Instead of teaching our young people about their government, today's social studies mixes sociology and psychology with liberal activism, guilt, groupthink and a desire to become citizens of the world. WND article

Islam was born in the deserts of Arabia in the early seventh century. Islam is a revolutionary, totalizing political ideology masquerading as a religion. - Ellis Washington, 2010

There’s A Hole In The Bucket!
  General piece by J. J. Jackson (5/3/08)

Perhaps as a child you once sang a fun little ditty about a hapless man, named Henry, and his beloved, named Liza.  See, this song is about a problem Henry has.  His bucket has a hole in it so it is pretty much useless.  But instead of handling the problem himself, he runs to ask Liza what he should do.

Liberal “Social Justice” Portends New Dark Age
Progressivism piece by Christopher G. Adamo (5/3/08)

The American public, and Christians in particular, are being deluged once again with talk of the thoroughly ambiguous concept of “social justice.” It is, after all, election time. Thus the pseudo religious among us must make their pitch for the Christian vote, on whatever spurious terms they can concoct.

‘Which Commissar Gets Your Vote?’
Elections piece by Malcolm T. Hedges (4/30/08)

Comrade Hillary and Comrade Obama are pretty much in the tank for a Socialist USA that will sink to being just another 3rd world mess.

Two Recent Success in WOT You Didn’t Hear About in the Media
MSM piece by Warner Todd Huston (4/30/08)

The Taliban suffered a big loss in Pakistan/Afghanistan this month and so did al Qaeda in Iraq, but the MSM has been practically silent on these great successes. It only goes to show that the media is so completely sold on the claim that the war is lost that they aren’t interested in doing any real reporting on the war.

Coffee Shops Endanger The Public and Economy
JunkScience piece by Press Release: (4/30/08)

ACCIDENT, MD - (April 31, 2008) TBSR*, after extensive research** has reached a scientific consensus that public gatherings at coffee shops constitutes a severe hazard to the public health.

New York Times Attacking Textbook Makers, Veiled Attack on Capitalism
MSM piece by Warner Todd Huston (4/30/08)

College textbooks are overpriced and something should be done. Why, Congress should even step in! That is the message that The New York Times wants us to understand(1) and I can’t say it is, in and of itself, entirely the wrong message—save the whole bit about Congress stepping in, of course. But, as is typical of The New York Times, their story is only a small part of the whole story. In their exuberance to shake a finger at book manufacturers and in their hurry to blame capitalism the Times missed the bigger story.

Ten Simple Truths About Oil
GreeenIsm piece by Alan Caruba (4/30/08)

Having written about the energy industry and issues now for a long time, I hope I can be forgiven for being enraged by the comments by Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) in response to President Bush’s press conference Tuesday morning. There is simply no way to describe them other than false.

High Oil Prices - Blame The Government You Elected!
GreeenIsm piece by Thomas D. Segel (4/29/08)

Harlingen, Texas, April 28, 2008:  Yesterday I topped off my tank at $3.49.9 a gallon.  But, I am lucky.  My home is in one of the lowest cost-of-living regions of the country.  In California, for example, my brother filled up his tank again at $3.89.9 a gallon...and he shops for “cheap” gas. The high price of gasoline is on the lips of everyone you meet these days.  Also, everyone has his or her own idea about whom we should blame for our latest economic woes.

Words matter
Demercrats piece by Carolyn Hileman (4/29/08)

Joe Bacca whose caucus is influential in the democratic party said in an attempt the thwart the first amendment rights of Lou Dobbs CNN that words matter, words have power and he is right and that is exactly why we are given the right to freedom of speech. You must understand when it comes to the Democratic Party anything that is not pro American reigns supreme, they will fight for the rights of the terrorists, they will fight for the rights of illegal immigrants, and they will fight for the rights of anyone but an American. That my friends is why the Hispanic caucus is so influential in the Democratic Party because they wish to change America, they want to make her just like every other country in the world.

Blame Clinton and the Greens for Gas Prices
  GreeenIsm piece by OffSite (4/28/08)

With gas prices now yon-side of $3.50 per gallon, wouldn’t it be great to have an extra million barrels of domestic oil flowing daily into the American pipeline?  Blame William Jefferson Clinton, who vetoed a bill in 1995 that would have opened the Alaska reserves that could have been producing much needed domestic energy today.

Liberal Congress Wants To Kill The ‘Bush Tax Cuts’
Progressivism piece by Gordon Bishop (4/28/08)

Congress is working on a “secret plan” to stick taxpayers with the largest tax increase in American history!

Government-Approved Religions and Cults
Big Brother piece by Doug Patton (4/28/08)

So, let me make sure I have this straight. Hate-filled Islamic Madrassas are okay. To discriminate against them would be racial profiling.

I’m a Bitter/Clingy Gun Owner - and I’m Happy About It!
Elections piece by Doug Giles (4/28/08)

Obama, the great healer of America, the hope of our nation, came out last week and whizzed on millions of Christians and firearm fans calling us bitter Cling-Ons to religion and guns. I, personally, wasn’t insulted because I really like God and my rifles, and I make a good living off my rage.

Murtha’s Political Remarks Insulting
Elections piece by 60 Plus Association (4/27/08)

Washington, DC – The head of a senior citizens’ organization called on Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) to apologize to older Americans for his thoughtless remarks yesterday that John McCain is ‘too old to be President.’

Christians Under Attack by Government School Bureaucrats
Edukshun piece by Jim Kouri (4/27/08)

“Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, just as it is the spirit of a spiritless situation. It is the opium of the people.” - Karl Marx German economist & Communist political philosopher (1818 - 1883)

Telling the Truth about Obama Means You’re a Racist
Elections piece by Sher Zieve (4/26/08)

As more information emerges about Barack Hussein Obama - although decidedly not from the mainstream media who diligently work to protect him - it has become patently obvious, to those who still have the ability to reason, that he is both a radical and a racist.  It also now becomes obvious as to why Senator Obama chose the extremist Jeremiah Wright’s church.  From his own pen - and contained within his books “Audacity of Hope” and “Dreams from My Father” - Obama strongly, if not unambiguously, agrees with the truly racist and anti-Semitic Wright.  However, disseminating the truth about Obama is - as was to be expected from the Left - now being called “racist.” However, some in the Republican Party - most specifically John McCain - are also calling for more “gentle treatment” of this radical candidate for POTUS.  Inexplicably, John McCain is even calling for the removal of Republican Ads that tell these truths about Candidate Obama.

McCain Shouldn’t Have Picked a Fight With The North Carolina GOP
Elections piece by Aaron Goldstein (4/26/08)

As a conservative who has written in strong support of John McCain and who will cast a ballot for him on November 4th, I think the GOP nominee has erred in picking a fight with the North Carolina Republican Party.

Wow! - 57 Unique Benefits of Homeschooling
Edukshun piece by Joel Turtel (4/26/08)

Parents, is homeschooling the right choice for you and your children? Maybe you think you don’t have the time to homeschool because you work. Perhaps you don’t have confidence in your ability to teach your kids because you never took “teaching” courses.

‘Hillary Versus Obama: Whose Lies Will Prevail?’
Elections piece by Christopher G. Adamo (4/24/08)

Perhaps the most striking conclusion to be drawn from this week’s Pennsylvania Primary is that, despite its results, nothing in the Democrat Party’s currently tangled state will change. And this would have been so, no matter how the election had unfolded.

With Obama, it’s the Communism, Stupid
Elections piece by Cliff Kincaid (4/24/08)

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama tried to deflect a question about his relationship with terrorist Bill Ayers by saying that he “engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8-years-old” and that he was now a professor and a neighbor. The real issue is whether Obama shares Ayers’ communist views. Obama admitted to exchanging ideas with Ayers on an irregular basis but did not say what those ideas were. But we know that Ayers, rather than just being a 1960s “radical,” was a member of a Marxist-Leninist communist group.

Expelled - in more than one way
Progressivism piece by Bruce Walker (4/23/08)

Ben Stein’s excellent film, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, is a perfect example of our militant atheistic Leftists have created an Inquisition to purge and to scourge anyone within the professions related to an explanation of the origins of life who deviates from a materialist, deterministic, godless solution.  He went, but could have gone, further.  More than one lonely scientific soul has noted that without the physical laws of the universe being exactly the way they are - with a deviation in those laws of just a tiny fraction - that not only would human life be impossible, but any life would be impossible in the universe.

Democrats Still Love their Anti-American Candidates
Demercrats piece by Sher Zieve (4/21/08)

Democrat voters are showing us, once again, that they do not care if their candidates support those who profess anti-American and racist rhetoric and actions.  They also apparently embrace those who support terrorists.

When Political Correctness Becomes Conventional Wisdom
GreeenIsm piece by Doug Patton (4/21/08)

Until last week, I still had hope. I still believed, perhaps naively, that the majority of Americans were wise enough to see the truth. Perhaps they are, but given the onslaught of political correctness now surrounding the topic, I seriously doubt it. I think we have lost the battle.

Earth Day Is a Holiday For Liars
GreeenIsm piece by Alan Caruba (4/21/08)

Earth Day is a holiday for liars. I have followed the apocalyptic claims and the legislated mandates of the environmental movement since the 1970s and their single unifying factor has been the lies told to achieve various elements the Green agenda.

An America United Like This Will Die
  Progressivism piece by J. J. Jackson (4/20/08)

You may have heard the commercials being run around the country sponsored by the AARP as part of their “Divided We Fail” campaign.  If you have not had the nauseating displeasure of hearing these ads, here is the deal.  The goal of these advertisements is to demand that questions be asked of the Presidential candidates as to exactly how much more government they will impose on us because there are people in America that are not, perish the thought, happy.

Jack Cafferty Merely Spoke The Truth
General piece by Dave Gibson (4/20/08)

The controversy over the recent comments made by CNN’s Jack Cafferty about China is a bit puzzling. Of course, we now live in a world where the truth is almost always taboo.

Donkeys, Elephants and Political Truths
Elections piece by Tom Segel (4/18/08)

Harlingen, Texas, April 17,2008: During the presidential campaign of 1828 Democrat Andrew Jackson was labeled a “jackass” because he was perceived to have stubborn and stupid political views.  One hundred and nine years later that label still hangs around the neck of the Democratic Party. The party never adopted the jackass label, but it became an accepted party symbol by the people. Over the course of time political spinners changed the term from jackass to a donkey that was “clever and courageous”, and the party has continued to spin that image.
