Instead of teaching our young people about their government, today's social studies mixes sociology and psychology with liberal activism, guilt, groupthink and a desire to become citizens of the world. WND article

Islam was born in the deserts of Arabia in the early seventh century. Islam is a revolutionary, totalizing political ideology masquerading as a religion. - Ellis Washington, 2010

Just in for Halloween: The Scariest Story of the Election
Elections piece by Monte Kuligowski (10/9/08)

In the age of information we sometimes allow bizarre happenings to pass right over our heads. But this story and its implications below must not pass over a collective yawn. The scariest story of the 2008 presidential campaign is the virtual deification of Barack Obama.

Reasons Why No One Should Vote for Obama Except His Family and Friends!
Elections piece by Don Boys (10/9/08)

Every person has a right to his own opinions but no one has a right to his own facts. The Obama facts that follow should limit those voting for him to his immediate family, a few friends, and of course all committed racists and socialists.

Democrats Caused Current Financial Crisis
Economics piece by Sher Zieve (9/24/08)

After listening to either uninformed or patently lying Democrat operatives on Fox News, this Saturday morning - Mary Anne Marsh and other multiple Democrat Obama-supporters - blame the Bush administration and Republicans for the current financial crisis, I felt it imperative to be one more voice in at least attempting to set the record straight.  As they are backing Obama for POTUS and actively working against McCain, the leftist mainstream media certainly will not do it.

Financial Crisis:  Beware of the Phrase “Both Sides are to Blame”
Economics piece by Sher Zieve (9/24/08)

Anytime we hear the members of the press say or write “both sides [Democrat and Republican] are to blame”, we can be certain of one thing - the Democrats have been caught red-handed with both of those hands in the cookie jar.  So, in order to protect their own and lessen the scrutiny on the Democrat perpetrators, the mainstream media has to blame both sides.  And as the media is diligently working 24/7 in order to get their candidate Obama elected, this is precisely the tactic that they are employing.  Even Fox News is now broadcasting the “both sides are to blame” mantra.  Even if not true, I guess that’s the “fair and balanced” way!

USDOD Approves Sale of Bunker-Busters to Israel
Middle East piece by J. D. Longstreet (9/23/08)

Well, well, well. Who applied the pressure to the Pentagon to let Israel have these guided-missile” bombs? The last we heard, just a few days ago, was that the US was dragging it’s feet on the sale of these missiles to Israel. My, oh my, how things change… and so quickly, too.

Goodbye USA, Hello USSA!
Progressivism piece by Doug Edelman (9/23/08)

Welcome to the United Socialist States of Amerika!!

Divine Intervention Sought To Curb Youth Gang Violence
Crime piece by Thomas D. Segel (9/18/08)

Harlingen, Texas, September 17, 2008:  Gang violence is a rapidly growing cancer eating away at urban America.  There can be no better evidence of this than a plea from a police chief in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas for the residents and churches of his city to “enter into their own time of prayer and intercession directed at the issue of gang violence, broken homes, and the deterioration of the family unit that is destroying our youth.”

DON’T PANIC!
Elections piece by Alan Caruba (9/17/08)

“The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” was best known for the two words on its cover, “Don’t Panic!” Of course, when you have Vogons wandering around destroying entire planets to make way for galactic highways it’s hard to remain calm.

McClatchy Whines: Public Unfair to News Media
MSM piece by Warner Todd Huston (9/16/08)

You… yes, you reading this right now. McClatchy wants you to know you are mean to them, your mistrust of them is merely egged on by a sly political tactic, and you fall for it because you only get your news from an “ideologically tailored” source. In other words, they are telling you that you are misinformed, mean-spirited, easily led… well, they are telling you that you are stupid. And then they wonder why people don’t trust them!

Obamanomics 101 For Useful Idiots
Politics piece by JB Williams (9/12/08)

Like many other definitions that have been rewritten by left-wingnuts over time, the term “general welfare” no longer means what it did when it was written in our Constitution and ratified by the colonies in 1789.

The Veil of Ingratitude Separating the US and Europe
  Europe piece by J. D. Longstreet (9/12/08)

The MsM was all “a-twitter” a few days ago about some poll, or other, in Europe, which demonstrated that Europeans wanted Obama to be the next President of the US. The results of the poll were reported all over the planet in a sort of surreal challenge to the “Fates in Charge of Elections” to make Obama the next US President because… the Europeans wish it to be so. Problem is… the folks in the US heard about that poll and they/we bristled.

….More on the Government We Vote For
Politics piece by Thomas D. Segel (9/12/08)

Harlingen, Texas September 11, 2008:  With an army of political partisans, pundits and vacuum heads filling the hard copy and electronic media with an overabundance of both written and verbal trash, I elected to block out both the Internet and television.  Some space and time was needed to clear my head and try to make a rational decision about our national approach to electing those who will govern the nation.

‘Does Obama Seek to Re-educate our Kids?’
  Progressivism piece by J. D. Longstreet (9/10/08)

Obama Vows Government Run Re-education Camps for America’s Youth!  When this idea was first reported, months ago, it was quietly shifted off the pages of the newspapers and out of sight and hearing. Now it is back… and it is a burning issue… an issue that every American ought to be incensed about! When I first heard about it, I turned to my wife and said: “Obama’s Private Army!” She agreed. We had no idea, at the time, how right we were in our assessment of Obama’s so-called “Universal Voluntary Public Service” program.

CAIR Attempts to Sabotage Law Enforcement Terrorism Training
Islam piece by Jim Kouri (9/10/08)

The Council for American Islamic Relations has been trying in vain to stop a counter- terrorism program in Sarasota Florida, aimed at providing first responders with information on subjects such as building safety, suicide terrorism, technologies against terrorism and more. This is part of CAIR’s program to stop Security Solutions International (SSI)—an organization that has trained more than 500 Federal, State and Local agencies since 2004.

Media Sins
MSM piece by Geoff Metcalf (9/8/08)

“Vices are character traits. Sins are specific acts of commission or omission.” --Solomon Schimmel Blood sport politics continues. Hurricane season is in full flower. Russia, Iran, North Korea and China continue to rattle sabers in varying degrees and I’m reminded of the Kingston Trio singing “…and I don’t like anybody very much.”

‘Democrats Find Religion?’
Demercrats piece by Nathan Tabor (9/8/08)

All of a sudden, the national Democratic Party has found religion.

Attacks against Palin; Secular support for Obama, both predictable
Elections piece by Robert E. Meyer (9/8/08)

John McCain’s selection for Vice-President, Sarah Palin, has electrified the conservative base, and has succeeded in attracting some voters back to the Republican ticket, who were resigned to sit out the election, or vote for a minor party candidate.

The Swift-Skirting of Sarah Palin
Elections piece by Warner Todd Huston (9/8/08)

Apparently the media wants to get even for the Swift-Boaters successful torpedoing of John Kerry in 2004 because they are by the dozens every day promulgating lies about the career and life of Governor Sarah Palin. I recently posted a piece on the lies, exaggerations and misbegotten assumptions of a Baltimore Sun columnist(1) and it got me to thinking to try and gather one thread rebutting the media’s ever evolving negative memes against this strong woman. From unproven claims of infidelity, to claims she is a book banner and a negligent Mother, the media have been smearing this woman daily since she stepped out onto the national stage. One recent Politico attack(2) on Palin was made up solely of the claim that she was once mean to someone… yes, Politico actually was trying to say that their report was serious.

Obama Surrogates Float More False Smears about Palin
Elections piece by Sher Zieve (9/7/08)

We already know that if you don’t vote for Obama, you’re a racist.  If Obama loses the presidential race that means that the country is racist.  And if one chooses to run against Obama, said opponent - by his or her sheer audacity to do so - must also be labeled a racist.  How do we know?  Via his surrogates (otherwise known as Obama “mouthpieces” or “lapdogs”) the Democrats secular messiah - Barack Hussein Obama - has told us so.  The latest apparently got its start in the far-Left blogosphere.  From the same fun group of folks who brought you the faked and thoroughly discredited story that Republican VP Candidate Sarah Palin’s Down syndrome son was really her daughter’s child we have the new one - said by some to be ‘Leftist-rumor-to-destroy-Sarah Palin-number65’ that Palin (speaking of Obama’s victory over Hillary Clinton) said “Sambo beat the bitch.” Suffice it to say, the Left-wing bloggers immediately jumped on the story.

Democrat Deceptions about Oil
Energy piece by Alan Caruba (9/7/08)

Lost amidst the many speeches delivered at the Democrat Convention was one by Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada. He is the Senate Majority Leader and, as such, controls the legislative agenda in that upper house of Congress. Harry Reid hates oil, but then, so does the Democrat Party.

Larry King Live: Jesse Ventura, Actor D.L.Hughley Call Republicans ‘Nazis’
Politics piece by Warner Todd Huston (9/4/08)

It always comes down to this one, doesn’t it? Leftists and fringe politicos calling Republicans “Nazis.” Well, the “N” word was once again unleashed against John McCain’s Republican Convention on September 2 during CNN’s Larry King Live show. Actor D.L. Hughley and Independent former Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura both went for that shopworn epithet as King discussed the Convention.

Man Charged With Possessing Molotov Cocktails to Use at GOP Convention
Terrorism piece by Jim Kouri (9/4/08)

A 23-year-old Michigan man was charged last week in federal court for illegally possessing Molotov cocktails, which he allegedly intended to use at the Republican National Convention.

Let’s Take A Look At Campbell Brown’s Family
Politics piece by Dave Gibson (9/4/08)

A few days ago, CNN anchor Campbell Brown went on a very personal attack against Republican Vice-Presidential candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds was giving Brown an interview, when she decided to place the focus of the conversation on the Governor’s 17-year old daughter Bristol, who is pregnant.

Houston paper buries lead in sob-sister story about illegal’s suicide
MSM piece by John David Powell (9/3/08)

The lead is one of the hardest, yet most essential, elements to a news story.  It sets the tone for the article and captures the reader’s interest by using a minimum number of words.  And speaking of minimum, the good lead offers, at minimum, the meat of the story: the who, the what, the when, and the where.  The why and the how come later.

‘More Milwaukee Voter Fraud… Name that Party?’
Demercrats piece by Warner Todd Huston (9/1/08)

Milwaukee has discovered some more voter fraud with 10 more voter registration workers are being investigated by Wisconsin authorities. Fittingly, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel covered the story in its paper on August 29. Unfittingly, the Journal Sentinel forgot one, tiny aspect of the story… that the voter fraud was perpetrated by Democrats. In fact, one of the organizations, ACORN, is intimately linked with Barack Obama.

Sick of Journalists That Don’t Stand for the Nat’l Anthem
Progressivism piece by Warner Todd Huston (9/1/08)

Many Americans have a negative image of journalists and it is one that is growing in believability and acceptance every day, especially as the New Media begins to attract more and more attention from the American people. This image of the aloof, even anti-American, journalist is becoming rote with more people all the time. Sadly, the journalists themselves seem to be uninterested in countering this appalling public image, imagining themselves above being considered mere Americans. On this subject, a recent op ed by Mark Fitzgerald of Editor & Publisher(1) warns journalists that perception is often truth and that the penchant that journalists have for not standing proudly and patriotically during the National Anthem does not help their image any—good advice that will be roundly ignored by journalists the country over.

‘Drug cartels Threaten To Take-Over Mexico…Is The U.S. Next?’
National Security piece by Dave Gibson (8/30/08)

Recently, Villa Ahumada Police Chief Jesus Blanco Cano was shot to death after only one day on the job. The town is located in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua which is home to the very violent and powerful Juarez drug cartel.

The Religion Vote
Politics piece by Miguel Guanipa (8/30/08)

I do not feel that I am alone is suspecting that most politicians, pundits, and even some theologians are loath to venture a guess as to what demographic group is being referred to when the media insouciantly bandies about the phrase “The Religion Vote”. Still my curiosity was picked when I heard that Obama and McCain were earnestly infusing their campaign strategies with pointed initiatives to court the nebulous amalgam of voters presumably enveloped in this alleged, all-inclusive compendium.

Two Truly Great Americans (or) Two Forked Tongue Senate Hacks? You Decide!
Elections piece by JB Williams (8/30/08)

You want change? McCain decided to offer you REAL change we can believe in!
