No Permanent GOP Minority
Politics piece by OffSite (7/7/08)
WASHINGTON, D.C.—When House Republican leaders left Washington for their Fourth of July break, they felt good about outwitting the Democratic majority. The feeling was not reciprocated 3,000 miles away, where conservative California Republican activists were drafting an ultimatum. The Lincoln Club of Orange County is telling GOP leaders of both the House and Senate that it is too late to repent. They must go—or else lose big money.
The madness of Harry Reid
Bird-Brain Flu piece by OffSite (7/7/08)
My local county supervisor (recently re-elected to a four year term), in a letter to the editor, wrote that to save the planet we must end our use of oil and natural gas. She “wrote” the letter on her computer and e-mailed it to the newspaper - all using technology made possible by petroleum products. She made no offer of an alternative source of electricity, plastic, manufacturing, etc., nor any hint of irony in using the modern miracles made possible by oil to urge an end to the use of oil.
Assessing Ohio
Elections piece by Ari Kaufman (7/7/08)
Roughly 18 months after his defeat in the 2004 presidential election, John Kerry spoke at the commencement of Kenyon College, a small liberal arts college in rural Ohio.

400 members of Rainbow Family surround, attack federal officers
Progressivism piece by OffSite (7/6/08)
National Forest Service officials, surrounded and attacked yesterday in Wyoming with sticks and stones by 400 members of the Rainbow Family, were given reason to regret their decision to cancel a long-planned national service project by the Boy Scouts of America in favor of the unorganized annual gathering of hippies, anarchists and “free spirits” who commune with nature and each other.
Dumbing Down America’s Colleges
Edukshun piece by Alan Caruba (7/6/08)
The process that began in the 1960s to transform America’s elementary, middle and high schools into places where students could literally graduate without being able to read their diploma, where the teaching of mathematics was reduced to mush without rules, and where it was more important for students to feel really good about themselves than having to measure up scholastically with millions in foreign nations, has now reached the campuses of America’s colleges and universities.

Divisive Politics
Elections piece by Thomas Brewton (7/5/08)
Senator Obama’s campaign is based upon a fantasy: his claimed ability to transcend politics-as-usual and thereby to unite the nation for a common purpose.
The Devil You Know Or The Devil You Know
Elections piece by J. J. Jackson (7/5/08)
Well, here are your choices in November - a devil or a devil. Maybe the choice could be made easier. After all the saying goes, “Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t know.” Ok, well the only problem with that philosophy is that we “know” both of them.

Wet Powder And Stale Promises
Immigration piece by David Tatosian (7/4/08)
In May 2006 Bush promised a ‘virtual fence’ that was sure to be “the most technologically advanced border security initiative in American history.”
‘Can America Survive?’
General piece by Alan Caruba (7/4/08)
With the advent of the Fourth of July, I know the expectation is that some patriotic prose is expected. I also know there have been many previous Fourths when Americans could have legitimately asked whether the United States of America would survive.
Communist Party Backs Obama
Elections piece by Cliff Kincaid (7/4/08)
Barack Obama’s patriotic tour has run into a snag. More evidence of communist backing for the candidate has surfaced. The latest to emerge publicly in Obama’s camp is Joelle Fishman, the chairman of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) Political Action Commission. In a column titled, “Big political shifts are underway,” Fishman says that Obama could lead “a landslide defeat of the Republican ultra-right” this November and that he is “ready to listen” to the “left and progressive voters” backing him. Fishman makes it clear that the CPUSA is part of this coalition.

The Supreme Court versus Women and Children
Bird-Brain Flu piece by Bruce Walker (7/1/08)
On June 25, the Supreme Court issued two opinions that helped obviously guilty men who committed heinous acts of violence against women and children. These two decisions are not so much unconstitutional, as was the June 13 decision to allow enemy combatants outside America to have access to federal courts, as the two decisions were lame legal reasoning and profound general silliness.
Language Wars: Re-Redefining Judicial Activism
Bird-Brain Flu piece by Adam Graham (7/1/08)
The Heller decision has been disdained by many liberal activists as “conservative judicial activism” to sell their favorite meme: That conservatives are big hypocrites. Of course, this is little more than liberal language revisionism, inspired by linguist George Lakoff.
Upchuck City
Demercrats piece by Erik Rush (7/1/08)
No, this is not a review of an upcoming Spike Lee film; rather, the title of this offering is a reference to what the town of Unity, N.H. became on Friday June 27, when Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama, Sen. Hillary Clinton and Company descended upon the microscopic New England town in an effort to convince the latter senator’s supporters to back Obama. Hence the reasoning for choosing a place with the name “Unity.”
The Socialist Political State in Action
Progressivism piece by Thomas Brewton (7/1/08)
Speed and efficiency have never been the hallmarks of the socialist political state.

Politically Responsible Americans
Politics piece by John Ross (6/30/08)
Considering the magnitude of slanted information being heaped on the American voter these days, some confidence and reassurance needs to be added to help get them above the smoke and mirrors. For the uninitiated, the term “slant” was coined just prior to WWII in lieu of using the German word propaganda, to avoid the appearance of disseminating “propaganda.” Appropriately, Americans have also, more often than not, demonstrated that they will dismiss trite, or shallow, and ill-advised national political candidates that advocate mystical as against logical goals and objectives.
Putting Intel To Work Against ELF and ALF Terrorists
Terrorism piece by OffSite (6/30/08)
(FBI Eco-Terrorism - Press Room) In early 2006, eco-terrorist Eric McDavid and two associates met in a secluded cabin in Dutch Flat, California to discuss making improvised explosive devices and to choose targets to bomb. Soon after, they began casing the targeted facilities and buying supplies to make bombs. But before they started mixing the ingredients, we swooped in and arrested them.
Pro-Terrorist New York Times Leaks Top Secret US Info again
Progressivism piece by Sher Zieve (6/30/08)
Continuing to sound more like Al-Jazeera than any US publication and once again displaying its anti-American pro-terrorist credentials to the world, the Democrats’ PR machine New York Times has begun its latest jihad against the United States of America. This time, it has decided to release information on the highly classified “Operation Cannonball” - which consisted of planned maneuvers meant to capture top Al Qaeda officials. In doing so, the Times has placed one of its primary missions as ‘informing Islamic terrorists of any dangers the US presents’. Note: It appears that the Times has become increasingly furious that US and Iraqi forces seem to be winning the war in Iraq. The anger is now so pronounced that one has to ponder as to how many terrorists might actually be on the NY Times payroll.

On Promises Kept, Rank Our Government ‘Unsatisfactory’
Big Brother piece by Thomas D. Segel (6/29/08)
Harlingen, Texas, June 26, 2008: I really have a great amount of pity for those millions of poor souls who have such undying faith in the promises made by any politician, particularly those who hold national offices. Those who swallow this “Alice in Wonderland” rhetoric will suffer the deepest cuts of all when they step back through the looking glass and view reality for the first time.
D.C. v. Heller: Gun Bans Found To Be Unconstitutional (Again)
General piece by John Longenecker (6/29/08)
The Supreme Court of The United States announced that it was overturning the Washington, D.C. Gun Ban and affirming lower court’s ruling against D.C. But does this affect gun laws around the country? It should, as 80 Million gun owners invoke the law while handfuls of officials were found to break it.
WaPo After Free Republic Again, Now Over Barack-is-a-Muslim Email
Elections piece by Warner Todd Huston (6/29/08)
The Washington Post published a June 28th piece geared to protect Barack Obama from the nagging rumors that he is a secret Muslim, rumors that have been circulating since 2004. The Post’s Matthew Mosk penned an attack on Free Republic(1), based on an Obama flak who claims she has somehow discovered that Freepers are to blame, if not initially responsible, for floating the Barack-is-a-Muslim chain email that so many millions of Americans have found in their email boxes over the last four years. But, the Washington Post’s article is so filled with assumptions and a singular desire ‘not’ to really investigate the matter that it boggles the mind. Naturally, all the journalistic missteps serve to shield Barack Obama from any controversy and make all opposition seem nefarious or unhinged.

‘WaPo: Scalia Says ‘Hear, Hear’ to Machine Guns in D.C.?’
Progressivism piece by Warner Todd Huston (6/28/08)
It didn’t take long for the Washington Post to weigh in on the wrong side of the Second Amendment issue, did it? The Post’s Colbert I. King could not contain the disgust he feels for at least one part of the Constitution more in his response(1) to the Supreme Court’s Second Amendment ruling today. He flipped his top and went so far off the deep end that he seemed to imagine that Justice Scalia just gave the nod for citizens to get “machine guns” to indulge their newly affirmed ability to indiscriminately fire their loaded guns “at will” in D.C. In fact in this op ed, King was so unhinged that he seemed to utterly dispense with logic as he penned his newest ode to the wild-eyed phobia that is his inordinate fear of guns (yet, curiously, not of criminals).

Big Brother piece by Adam Graham (6/28/08)
“We must hang together, gentlemen...else, we shall most assuredly hang separately.” -Benjamin Franklin.
North Pole Meltdown
GreeenIsm piece by Bob Parks (6/28/08)
I can hear it now: the global warming alarmists will declare they were right. Humans have caused climate change, and the proof is way up north…

Political Palooka: Obama gags on Gitmo question
Elections piece by Daniel Clark (6/27/08)
The handling of Barack Obama calls to mind a movie called “The Harder They Fall”, in which Humphrey Bogart played a boxing promoter whose client was a heavyweight named Toro Moreno. Bogey learned early on that Toro couldn’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag, but that didn’t stop him from guiding the palooka to a shot at the world title.

A message from OPEC: Thank you, America!
Palestinian Parentage Generates Jordanian Jitters
Middle East piece by OffSite (6/27/08)
Jordan’s King Abdullah was very edgy this week as he sought to terminate any discussion of the role Jordan will have to ultimately play in ending the standoff caused by the pending demise of President Bush’s Roadmap to create a new Arab state between Israel and Jordan.

Radical Environmentalism: The “Imperfect Storm”
GreeenIsm piece by Christopher G. Adamo (6/26/08)
Liberals inadvertently delivered a telling message in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. In essence, it is the same message they have sent on the heels of every major calamity, whether natural or man-made, to befall the nation during the past several decades. Let a heat wave hit or a bridge collapse, and their first impulse is to assign guilt, invariably among their political opposition. But by their immediate and hysterical finger-pointing, they telegraph their desperation to avoid any culpability for the real problems at hand.
‘Is the Democrat Party the CPUSA in Disguise?’
Demercrats piece by Alan Caruba (6/26/08)
It’s no secret that Democrats are liberal, but when you peel away their devotion to environmental policies that have left America vulnerable to foreign nations on whom we depend for the importation of oil, what has been revealed is an intention to nationalize our nation’s oil industry. That, simply stated, is communism.
Faked certificate suggests that Obama may not be “natural born” US citizenPage 44 of 53 pages « First < 42 43 44 45 46 > Last »
Elections piece by OffSite (6/26/08)
It is now a certainty that the “birth certificate” claimed by the Barack Obama campaign as authentic is a photoshopped fake.
