Instead of teaching our young people about their government, today's social studies mixes sociology and psychology with liberal activism, guilt, groupthink and a desire to become citizens of the world. WND article

Unemployment Numbers Exacerbated by Crushing Regulations, Obama Labor Union Agenda
Employment/Jobs piece by Christine Hall (6/4/11)

Washington, DC, June 3, 2011 - Bad news for the American economy and the Obama administration comes today in the form of paltry job growth figures for May. U.S. nonfarm payrolls added just 54,000 jobs in May, far less than what economists predicted and far below April’s gain of 232,000.  Meanwhile, unemployment went up, not down: 9.1%, from 9% a month ago.  (See Forbes story(1).)

New Medicare ‘Efficiency’ Measure Deadly to Seniors
  ObamaCare piece by OffSite (6/3/11)

Everybody knows that if you don’t pay to maintain and repair your car, you limit its life. The same is true with human beings. We need medical care to avoid becoming clunkers - disabled, worn out, parked in wheelchairs and nursing homes.

‘Tolerance and Diversity - What are we Supposed to Tolerate?’
Progressivism piece by Michael Bresciani (6/3/11)

After the brutal shooting death of Pakistan’s Christian Minister Shabbaz Bhatti(1) for his opposition to ‘blasphemy laws’ the persecution and murders of Christians continues unabated in Pakistan and other Muslim countries. Is this what the west is supposed to tolerate?

Veterans Lament America’s Attitude of Indifference
Military piece by Thomas D. Segel (6/2/11)

Harlingen, Texas, June 2, 2011:  Another Memorial Day has faded into history and we will soon be celebrating Independence Day.  Looking back on the last holiday, Many veterans lament just how little thought the American public gave to those men and women who gave their lives on behalf of the nation.  On that special day of remembrance three hundred million people should have been gathered around the headstones of the fallen in prayers of praise and gratitude.  For most of America, however, that praise and gratitude was for those superficial things they believe make up their lives.

America At Its Pinnacle
The Republic piece by Christopher G. Adamo (6/2/11)

Last Wednesday marked the fiftieth anniversary of a monumental crossroads in America’s history; a moment in which the nation, in the face of a seemingly invincible enemy, collected its resolve to remain a world leader that would be subservient to no one. The “mainstream” media, so saturated in its anti-American mindset, felt little compulsion to even mention the anniversary of this event. A resolution no less significant to the course of the nation than was the Monroe Doctrine in the early nineteenth century, apparently matters little to the liberal mouthpieces who would far prefer to demagogue imagined Republican attacks against Medicare.

Republicans Question Federal Rules on Healthier Eating
Nanny State piece by OffSite (6/1/11)

WASHINGTON (AP) - House Republicans are pushing back against Obama administration efforts to promote healthier lunches, saying the Agriculture Department should rewrite rules it issued in January meant to make school meals healthier.

Sarah Has the Liberal Media on a String

Achieving Resolution
Progressivism piece by Frank Hyland (5/31/11)

Every so often a Writer looks back as his or her products and asks him/herself, “Why hasn’t this been fixed?” This is one of those times.  The great majority of my columns over the years have been prompted by an event – a law, an attack, a speech, a budget, a gaffe, and on and on.  If it were the first gaffe, when the Obamanation stood and offered a toast to Queen Elizabeth, continuing to speak during the playing of the British national anthem, I would not have written about it.  The first time that FORMER Speaker Pelosi said something like “500 million US workers lost their jobs last month,” I didn’t respond.  It wasn’t until the fall of 2010, following the proclamation of the “Recovery Summer” by President in Charge of Vice Biden, that I questioned the results.  And I look at my many colleagues who generate factual, critical responses to the boneheaded or misguided or outright illegal actions of the Left day after day, year after year.

To Tyranny And Beyond
  ObamaNation piece by J. J. Jackson (5/28/11)

The Transportation Safety Administration has flexed the power of President Obama’s federal government.  This is same government, mind you, that could not be bothered to accept a default judgment against the New Black Panther Party for the most blatant bit of voter intimidation in the past decade.  But it sure can harass the heck out of states that step out of line.

‘Has Romney Been Chosen To Lose To Obama?’
  Election 2012 piece by J. D. Longstreet (5/27/11)

It is becoming clear (at least to me) that Mitt Romney will be the GOP’s choice to lose to Obama in November of 2012.

[Threatened] Texas lawmakers shelve bill to ban TSA pat-downs
  ObamaNation piece by OffSite (5/26/11)

...the U.S. attorney general’s office threatened to cancel flights to Texas if the bill passed, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported(1) this week, and that was enough to give Texas senators cold feet.

N.J. Courts Not Interested in Democracy
Judicial Activism piece by Warner Todd Huston (5/26/11)

Most Americans are under the mistaken assumption that we as voters can elect someone to make changes in our government. Whether the government of our city, county, state or that in Washington DC we voters have this romantic idea that we can affect change by electing people to office that will make those changes. The New Jersey Supreme Court, however, has disabused us all of those absurd notions.

Notes on Democracy: And to the Republic, for Which It Stands

US Police State Begins Exponential Expansion
PoliceState piece by Sher Zieve (5/25/11)

The recent Indiana Supreme Court ruling against the US Constitution, rendering the Fourth Amendment null and void in that State by patently leftist activist judges, is only the latest unconscionable step in a series of actions designed to unravel each and every portion of the Bill of Rights.  It is also one of the latest actions designed to compliment and enhance the already jack-booted Obama police State march into our States, our cities and homes.  Soon US citizens will have no rights--whatsoever--unless they are doled out by the USSA Meneur or Commandant du jour.  Currently, that is the Obama/Soros syndicate which is now acting as the US‘ Dictator-and-agitator-in-chief.

True face of racism: The white elite liberal
  Racism piece by OffSite (5/24/11)

Blacks like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Jeremiah Wright, Michelle Obama, Louie Farrakhan and all the blacks who believe them, you are right – white racism does exist, and it is spelled “arrogant elitist white liberal.”

Why opposition against voter ID is indefensible
Elections piece by Robert E. Meyer (5/23/11)

Recently the legislature in the state of Wisconsin passed a law requiring ID to vote, with certain specified exceptions. Many people have voiced their opinion opposing requiring voter identification. I have trouble understanding those objections.

The Religious Right uniting with Religious Renegades, Part 1
  Progressivism piece by OffSite (5/23/11)

Some Religious Right leaders have joined forces with movers and shakers, literally speaking, of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). They have been warned about this “New Breed” of Christian and their global kingdom agenda and have chosen to disregard the warnings. This article will put to rest the notion that the NAR’s esoteric doctrines fall within the pale of orthodox Christianity. The hope of course is that the Religious or Christian Right will wake up and smell the coffee and sever all ties with these renegades.

Sen. Dick Durbin Caused ‘Gang of 6’ Talks to Fall Apart
Politics piece by Warner Todd Huston (5/21/11)

The “gang of six” is a group of senators who had taken it upon themselves to come to some sort of agreement over the competing budget ideas between Republicans and Democrats. It was hoped that these six senators could find a compromise that could kick off the debate with some sort of general agreement right at the start. But it was doomed to begin with. In fact, it is easy to understand how the new “gang of six” talks fell apart in the U.S. Senate this week.

Newspapers That Caused Pastor’s Death MUST Be Legally Charged
  MSM piece by OffSite (5/19/11)

Aside from what qualifies as mandatory criminal prosecution, a Wrongful Death Suit is also a proper legal remedy against any individual (s) who directly contributes to a death. These laws are in place for good reason.

Newt’s Done!  So, Apparently, Is The GOP!
  Election 2012 piece by J. D. Longstreet (5/18/11)

Newt Gingrich’s ambition to be President of the US did not take a shot in the foot over the past weekend – it was a headshot!  You can stick a fork in him ‘cause ... he’s DONE!

Superficiality
Progressivism piece by Thomas Brewton (5/16/11)

Superficiality is a necessary part of liberal-progressive-socialism.  Without bothering to determine how deep the water or how many boulders lie just below its surface, liberal-progressives are ready to leap head first off the cliff into any pool that looks nice on the surface, from afar.

Stirring Memorial Service for Pastor Jerry
MSM piece by Austin Miles (5/15/11)

Brentwood, California (5/14/11). For events expecting large crowds in the Bay Area’s East County, Golden Hills Community Church is usually the chosen venue. The cavernous sanctuary was almost filled to capacity this morning as the crowd filed in, coming in from as far away as Los Angeles and San Diego to memorialize Pastor Jerry Hanoum, driven to suicide by the newspapers.

Pastor’s Suicide Note Read to Congregation
Progressivism piece by Austin Miles (5/11/11)

(Oakley, Califonria 5/9/11) Yesterday was a very troubling Mother’s Day as an elderly grieving woman sat in Mountain View Christian Center in Oakley, California, quietly sobbing over the tragic death of her son, Pastor Jerry Hanoum. The church was overflowing with mourning people who filled every seat, the chairs on the drama stage and the choir loft with many others standing in the back and along the walls.

Newspapers Fired Fatal Shot That Killed Pastor!
MSM piece by Austin Miles (5/6/11)

(Oakley, California 5/5/11) The area newspapers accomplished their goal. They set out to destroy a Christian pastor and they succeeded. Pastor Jerry Hanoum who founded Mountain View Christian Center in Oakley, died at 8:30 A.M. yesterday morning (5/4/11) in his truck parked in the driveway of his Brentwood home. A fatal gunshot wound to the head took his life. While his death is listed as “an apparent suicide,” further investigations, including an autopsy scheduled for today, will determine that conclusively.

The Strange World of NSA Mind Control
Big Brother piece by OffSite (5/3/11)

The surveillance society is a secretive apparatus of intrusion and deception. An enigma within a disinformation perception of reality is at the core all activities of spooks. One of the most pervasive and all reaching agencies is the NSA.

We think that bin Laden ‘death photo’ (just the photo) is a fake
  Information piece by OffSite (5/2/11)

Based on some of the comments below (there’s one reply inline there), I’ve updated the headline to clarify that this post is just an attempt to clarify that one picture purporting to be something is in fact fake, not a larger commentary on the important news that Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. troops. To follow our reporting on the raid that killed him, read Bill Dedman’s story here.

The Administration targets a drug CEO in a troubling precedent.
  Fascism piece by OffSite (5/2/11)

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius made her political name in Kansas, though we wonder if she’s getting special advice from Eliot Spitzer. Her department’s latest attack, on the CEO of Forest Laboratories, is straight out of the former New York Attorney General’s bullying playbook.

Environmentalism as a surrogate religion
GreeenIsm piece by Tom Sheahen (5/1/11)

It may be “secular,” but environmentalism makes “Mother Earth” its object of special devotion. - As we reflect on Earth Day 2011 (April 22) and on passionate appeals that we support environmental initiatives almost too numerous to count, we should also reflect on a fundamental new reality.
